Khalsa Football Academy (KFA) have been working on some detached work with youngsters from Letchworth Garden City. The KFA have a equality campaign called Striving For Unity which promotes integration and cohesion in the community using football as a mechanism of engagement. The KFA students have been attending regular Futsal sessions in Bedford and were rewarded after a 40 week soocer project by being the Guard Of Honours at the Valencia CF V Man Utd Champions league game coming out with the players and carrying the UEFA banner beamed live around the world to billions. KFA coach Bal Singh represented KFA at the UEFA Champions league festival with the under 10′s and also had the opportunity to get inspired by the UEFA champions league exhibition including Displays of maestro midfielder Messi shirt and boots.

KFA have been delivering football initiatives and workshops at grassroots level to help address equality as part of the Striving For Unity project KFA’s equality campaign. The workshops help participants increase awareness, understanding and learning of equality, legislation and issues around equality. It helps build confidence to deal with equality incidents. Participants have the chance to express own views; listen to others; discuss with a range of colleagues.

Striving For Unity Campaign

The Striving For Unity Workshops and Pro-Soccer initiatives are delivered as part of The KFA Street Soccer programme to help reduce crime. They are also delivered in school time. The Striving for Unity Campaign provides innovative educational workshop projects which combines football and key core curriculum subjects to explore diversity in British society and across the world. The KFA vision is to merge the practical elements of football and education on a large scale.

UEFA Champions League Project

The KFA have already successfully delivered initiatives this year with Valencia CF and Liverpool FC, this included 14 coaches coming down from Spain to facilitate coaching to KFA students and last weekend so Liverpool FC coaches delivering sessions to KFA students followed by a Q&A workshop. Also present was the UEFA Champions League cup.

Bal Delivers Workshops In Birmingham

equality, legislation and issues around equality. It helps build confidence to deal with equality incidents. Participants have the chance to express own views, listen to others and discuss with a range of colleagues. There are various soccer initiatives including skill competitions and Futsal and Futbol De Salao games used to deliver these initiatives. Bal took the project to Birmingham City Football Club with the opportunity to play with fans and pro players. There were coaching sessions delivered by Bal leading up to the charity
exhibition game.
